Ivaylo Donchev

Ivaylo started filming at about 15-16 years old with the first thing he
found at hand – namely a small analog camera with 35mm film, documenting
time spent with your friends when skating.
Over time and as a result of several more serious injuries, his place
behind the lens allows him to stay close to what he loves most, namely
skateboarding.
He graduated from a mathematics high school in his hometown, after which he was accepted to study
Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Forestry in Sofia.
Barely 18 years old and without any equipment, Ivaylo started to assist the main
boulevard magazine photographer Dolores Alvarado. Along the way he even faster
enters the world of photography and skate photography in particular. His photos
quickly find a place in the pages of the best Bulgarian skateboarding magazine
for those years. (2008г.)
Shortly after graduating as a landscape architect, Ivaylo decided that he wanted to
to devote himself entirely to shooting and so left his homeland after being accepted to
studied documentary photography at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague, Netherlands.
In 2018, Ivaylo returns to Bulgaria, unsure of what the future holds for him in

home, but with clear goals in front of them. In 2021, he achieved one of the most
his significant professional goals in photography – to become part of the Red Bull

Photography. At the moment Ivaylo is the only official photographer of
Red Bull in Bulgaria.
Although extreme sports are one of the things he most enjoys to
Ivaylo works on many different projects in Bulgaria and in
abroad – commercial and personal, using both mediums – photo and video.
