My Secrets of Light and Composition in Sensual Portrait and Contemporary Nude

In this workshop, we will first establish a basic understanding of working with natural
light and why it is so essential to my style of contemporary nude art photography. You
will learn the advantages of available light, as well as its challenges, and how to use it
most e=ectively. We will explore how to analyze a room using my techniques, “Light
Comes First” and “Right Level of Contrast,” and which technical tools can assist with this
analysis. Additionally, we will discuss various lighting compositions for portrait, lifestyle,
and nude photography, and how to combine them in the best possible way.
The second learning objective of this workshop is mastering image and color
composition in sensual nude and lifestyle photography with available light. We will
address questions such as:
• How can I photograph the female body as sensually as possible, and what poses
are best suited for this?
• How does perspective matter, and how does focal length a=ect it?
• Which general techniques of image composition are ideal for sensual
photography?
• What is the best way to incorporate the location into my composition?
• Which colors or color combinations enhance my images, and when is it better to
switch to black and white?
• What impact do skin tones have, and how can I capture them in the most
flattering way?
Mode of Operation:
We will work in a small, exclusive group of a maximum of 10 photographers. I will guide
you through both the theoretical aspects and the practical photo sessions with a
professional model. Step by step, you will learn how I achieve my results using only
available light.
Prerequisites for Participation:
To gain the maximum benefit from the workshop, you should be proficient in operating
your camera equipment, ideally in manual mode. While prior experience in people,
boudoir, or nude photography is helpful, it is not required.
For the workshop, you will need a digital SLR or mirrorless camera, along with fast
lenses. Ideal focal lengths range between 35–85mm with an aperture of f/1.2–f/1.8, or
telephoto zoom lenses such as 24–70mm or 70–200mm with an aperture of f/2.8.
