Elina Kechicheva

the photographer who changed the narrative in the DIOR and NIKE campaigns

When four years ago, the French fashion empire of luxury – DIOR announced its new advertising campaign for the spring-summer season, the name of the photographer impressed many – the Bulgarian Elina Kechicheva. In collaboration with the artistic director of the campaign, the brilliant Fabien Baron, the Burgas-born photographer turned the shots into a romantic reference to Caravaggio’s canvases.

Late last year, the photographer raised the bar high again with a global campaign that also marked the sportswear giant Nike’s change in motto – from Just Do It evolved to Greatness. It Only Takes Everything, which changed not only the visual aesthetic but also the editorial content with Rafael Nadal not standing up but embracing victory on the red tennis court.
When presented in a professional , and media environment, Elina shunned her first years in Paris as a model because she categorically stated that her life in Paris began with her first steps as a photographer.
In her rich portfolio, full of high peaks in the profession – covers of Vogue, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, Numero, Russh and fashion campaigns for Dior, Nike and Nina Ricci, and just recently the news that her current fashion shoot for DIOR magazine has achieved a real record in social networks (with likes and shares).
The road to global success began with a strong entry – a discovery by the founders of the prestigious Hyeres photography and fashion festival, Patrick Remy and Michel Marat – and since then, professionals and media alike have been commenting on her inspired metaphorical visual language and calling her “the poet of fashion photography”.
The agency that showcases her work as a photographer, ICONO LAST IMAGE, puts her in perfect and worthy company. Elina’s name can be spotted between those of Wim Wenders, Armony Corin and Jean-Baptiste Mondino.
